Watch Disney, Vistra, Synopsys, and More

After Disney’s (DIS) cable unit ended the suspension on Jimmy Kimmel, the firm promptly hiked monthly subscription rates.

Disney+ has increased its streaming prices for the fourth consecutive year. Prices for the ad-supported version will rise by $2. Viewers will now pay $11.99 a month. The ad-free version increases by $3 to $18.99 per month. Subscribers on the annual ad-free plan will pay $30 more, or $189.99.

Disney is betting that consumers will not respond to the increases by canceling their plans.

Vistra (VST) lost 6.28% in Tuesday’s trading session, closing at $204.24. The stock is having trouble breaking out and staying above the $200 level. A steep drop in AI-related activities would hurt VST stock.

Synopsys (SNPS) continued its sharp rebound. The stock fell below $400 only briefly after posting Q3 results on September 9. SNPS stock closed at $490.32, down by 4.75% yesterday. The company faces slow design IP revenue.

Among the Magnificent 7, watch Amazon (AMZN), Nvidia (NVDA), Meta Platforms (META), and Tesla (TSLA) this morning. Nvidia and Amazon led Tuesday’s decline, while Oracle (ORCL) fell by 4.36%. The AI hype risks losing momentum, even though revenue growth will continue this year.

In the credit card services sector, watch out for Mastercard (MA). The stock failed to break out above $600. This led to several days of selling pressure. MA stock closed at $569.97.
