Watch Humana, Mosaic, Comcast, and More

In mid-week stock markets, Humana (HUM) is the company to watch. Shares lost 6.03% to close at $258.16 on Tuesday. The company reaffirmed its guidance for this year, which missed consensus estimates.

The insurance firm is forecasting an adjusted earnings per share of $17.00. Companies in this space to watch include Centene (CNC) and Molina Healthcare (MOH).

Fertilizer firm Mosaic Company (MOS) erased most of its recent rally. MOS stock fell by $1.40 to close at $23.46. The sector rallied on December 11, after reports of Ukrainian forces striking several Russian chemical facilities. Unfortunately, MOS stock, CF Industries (CF), FMC, Corteva (CTVA), and Nutrien (NTR) are out-of-favor stocks. Still, NTR stock is an attractive holding, while Corteva is holding the $65.50 level.

Among the stocks on the rise, look at the communications sector. Comcast (CMCSA) might continue from Tuesday’s rally. CMSCA stock gained over 5% to close at $29.73. Shares are on a year-long downtrend. However, buyers stepped in at the $25.75 range. Speculators believe that an activist investor might shake up the firm.

Comcast has an unusual dual stock structure. This weakens shareholder voting rights. Previously, when Comcast bid for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), the firm was willing to spin off its NBCUniversal unit.

A shake-up in Comcast’s business structure would unlock its discount.
