Nvidia Rises, Moderna and Brown-Forman Slump, and More

Nvidia (NVDA) shares recently found strong buying support at below $175. That led to an uptrend, followed by a 3.01% lift for NVDA stock on Tuesday.

After the government said that it would let Nvidia sell advanced AI chips to China, a U.S. Trade Representative said that the U.S. will impose new tariffs on China’s semiconductor industry. That would give U.S. tech firms, especially Nvidia, an advantage. Chinese firms would need to depend on American technology for their semiconductor needs.

In the vaccine market, Moderna (MRNA) fell prey to profit-taking. Shares fell by 7.48% to close at $32.29 on Tuesday. Although the stock trades at a discount, it does not offer strong growth or profitability. MRNA stock is at risk of the recent momentum fading. That would send the stock down to the mid $25 levels.

Brown-Forman (BF.B) dropped by $1.46 (-5.20%) to close at $26.64. Its competitor, Jim Beam, will suspend production at its distillery located in Clermont, Kentucky. Jim Beam’s Management said that demand for its bourbon did not meet supply. Even though the firm plans to close the site temporarily, prospects for the alcohol beverage industry look weak in 2026.

Brown-Forman’s products in this space are Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve, and Old Forester. The firm said that in October, net sales in Canada fell by 62%.

The trend is worsening globally. Exports of spirits to the UK and Japan experienced a more than 23% drop.
