Dick’s Sporting Goods Expands Partnership With Lids

U.S. retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS) is adding more Lids products and shops to its stores.

Dick’s says that it plans to increase its Lids presence to 100 of its stores in the U.S. Lids will have shops and merchandise embedded within Dick’s Sporting Goods locations.

Privately held Lids primarily sells baseball hats and other merchandise branded with professional sports team logos.

“Our athletes are increasingly looking for new ways to rep their favorite teams, their style and the latest trends,” said Dick’s in a news release. “By partnering with Lids, a leader in licensed headwear, we’ll be able to offer them more choices to meet their needs for sport, lifestyle and fandom.”

Dick’s currently has Lids hats and other products available in 46 of its stores in the U.S. Now, it expects to grow that presence to 100 stores by the end of this summer.

The sporting goods retailer has about 3,200 store locations across the U.S.

Dick’s first-quarter financial results this year missed Wall Street’s targets as it integrates sneaker retailer Foot Locker, which it acquired for $2.4 billion U.S.

DKS stock has risen 23% over the last 12 months to trade at $220.04 U.S. per share.
