MYOS Stock Pops on Partnership with Pro Football Legends

In their lifetime, NFL players could participate in the Super Bowl or the Pro Bowl and, a little more easily, the lesser known Optimal Bowl and Wellness Challenge.

For the first time, Pro Football Legends, the commercial marketing arm of NFL Alumni, has partnered with biotherapeutics and bionutrition company MYOS RENS Technology (NASDAQ:MYOS) for the Optimal Bowl and Wellness Challenge, giving a lift to MYOS stock as traders anticipate added value from added marketing.

The NFL Alumni NY/NJ Chapter's Optimal Bowl is an event for adults and kids, including things like touch football with NFL alumni for coaches, stadium tours, autograph sessions and more.

The NFL Alumni Wellness Challenge is a 90-day event featuring former NFL players working together with military veterans and world-class medical experts on a variety of activities to improve their individual health.

The Challenge features a web TV documentary series, special events and wellness campaign intended to educate the public about how they can optimize their health. Ambassadors for the Bowl and Challenge include the likes of NFL Hall of Famers Dan Marino, Joe Montana and Steve Young.

For this year's Wellness Challenge, MYOS's Qurr, a muscle enhancing product powered by Fortetropin, is being brought into the fold. MYOS's Fortetropin is billed as the world's first all-natural, clinically demonstrated myostatin reducer.

Myostatin is a protein released by myocytes that slows muscle cell growth and differentiation. Qurr muscle health products are clinically proven to build lean muscle mass and thickness with the proper training by inhibiting the release of myostatin.

Investors seem optimistic about the added exposure that should come from the deal with Pro Football Legends, energizing the stock in Thursday action.

After closing at $1.49 on Wednesday, shares gapped ahead to $2.12 at today's opening bell and rose to a three-month high at $2.35. With about two hours left in the session, shares were holding at $1.87 for a gain of 25.5%.
