Micro-Cap Announces 245% Revenue Growth for 2009 (OC:BNLB)

With more of an emphasis on Americans getting healthy these days, and turning away from foods and beverages that derail that process, companies that direct their efforts at keeping customers smiling on the inside and the outside may stand to prosper in the long term, and find themselves smiling as well.

One firm that appears to get this message -- and is reaping the rewards of it -- is Omaha-based Bond Laboratories Inc. (OTCBB:BNLB) an innovative manufacturer of functional beverages and nutritional products. In the days following Easter, the company, whose flagship product is ironically called Resurrection™, a drink aimed at prevention of hangovers, announced impressive financial results which we will discuss later in this article.

An aggressive marketing campaign, with the objective of being first to market with the drink, paid off handsomely; Resurrection clicked with 50 major distributors, who decided to carry the product in the first 90 days, gaining access to over 20,000 bars, convenience stores, liquor stores and gas stations in 14 states.

In late March, BNLB joined with a distributor with links to the MillerCoors distributor, Texas-based Giglio Distributing Co. to distribute Resurrection throughout East Texas markets that they serve.

The Tuesday after Easter, BNLB came out with incredible financial news for its fiscal fourth quarter and full year, which ended December 31, 2009. Total revenue for the year more than tripled over the year, leaping to $8.7 million from $2.5 million in 2008. Sales for the final quarter of ’09 were also impressive, growing to $1.7 million from just over a million in the prior-year quarter.

BNLB is a national provider of Premium Beverages and Innovative Proprietary Nutritional Supplements for health-conscious consumers. The Company produces and markets its products through its two operating divisions, NDS Nutrition and Fusion Premium Beverages.

NDS manufactures and distributes a full line of nutritional supplements to support healthy living through a variety of retail channels including GNC franchise locations located throughout the United States. Fusion Premium Beverages distributes a line of health and energy beverages to support and promote an active lifestyle, such as the much-touted Resurrection.

Best of all, this stock is relatively inexpensive – not nearly so cheap as the dime registered at its 52-week gully plumbed soon after last Memorial Day, but still a far cry from the peak of $1.60 reached late last September.

The day the company revealed its bottom line, the stock price held at 45 cents, attractive enough for would-be investors to take a good, long swig. As the Fusion beverages continue to make inroads in the health-conscious market, BNLB could be just the strengthening tonic one’s portfolio is hoping for.
