Micro-Cap Explores Development of Solar Rechargeable Batteries, Stock Rallies on News

Sometimes, the best technologies are the ones about which word spreads without a whole lot of fanfare, but prove useful and noteworthy, and on the cutting edge. Often the technology comes to the rescue of existing devices that need to run faster, longer, cheaper, or all three, and their best ally is the Sun herself.

In the first week of October, Hollywood, Florida-based Genesis Electronics Group, Inc. (OTCBB:GEGI), announced that it has initiated steps for the development of solar rechargeable batteries in commonly-used standard sizes such as AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, as well as other specialized sizes that have the potential for use by the military and scientific devices.

GEGI boasts of its status as a dynamic and innovative technology company, whose focus is on both current state-of-the-art technologies and applications, and those rapidly emerging ones that will impact our society in the near future. GEGI offers a combination of solutions developed internally, as well as targeted acquisition of synergistic companies.

CEO Edward Dillon told the media that the batteries wouldn’t depend on plug-in charging units – unlike other rechargeable batteries. They’d be rechargeable when exposed to the sun.
“Instead of throwing away ‘dead’ batteries, from a flashlight or other device”, says Dillon, “you will be able to put these on the windowsill or on the porch and they will re-charge. This represents a completely unique product -- there's nothing else like it".

GEGI has already developed and is producing a solar-powered charger for the iPhone called the SunBlazer™ which it expects to bring to market shortly.

Also in the pipeline, a revolutionary cellphone charger that utilizes solar energy to vastly increase the battery life and therefore the utility of the most widely used cellphones. Distribution is planned to include both cellular service providers as well as major retail outlets. As demand increases for portable devices in North America and elsewhere, GEGI forecasts substantial sales volume with product pricing well within the means of the average consumer.

The announcement must have reached investors, for more than 600, 000 shares of GEGI changed hands on October 7. The stock closed at 7.8 cents that day, a jump of 56%, but still well below the 52-week peak of 19 cents set last April. The price bottomed out last November at just two cents. But with the new technology offered by GEGI, and the demand it will likely have once consumers warm up to it, they will likely hail solar chargeable batteries as technology they can no longer live without.
