Junior Technology Company Shares Surge on New Igniter Development

Taking technologies to the next level is the goal of countless companies throughout the world.

Unfortunately, it can take decades and millions of dollars to reach the goal. Worse yet, sometimes the goal is never reached. But, there are companies that are out there now with revolutionary products that can change the landscape of many industries through technologies that can bolster efficiency and lower costs in everyday products today.

Penn Yan, New York-based GreenCell, Inc. (OTCBB:GCLL) has technologies that can span a broad range of products and revolutionize several multi-billion-dollar industries across the globe.

The company is engaged in a joint venture with SenCer Inc. to develop, commercialize and market SenCer's UltraTemp™ ceramic composite materials for both home and transportation applications, including SOFC fuel cells, igniters, braking, oxygen sensors, and ceramic heaters. Concerning a portion of the transportation industry, the oxygen sensor market tops $8 billion U.S. annually, and GreenCell’s next-generation oxygen sensors could be set to take a big cut of that fat market.

A key component of vehicle emission controls, present oxygen sensors are costly for several reasons including a platinum component carrying a $1,800-U.S.-per-ounce price tag. The GreenCell oxygen sensors not only outperform present day solutions, but bridge the expense gap by eliminating the platinum. Moreover, they seamlessly transition with manufacturers assembly systems, virtually eliminating all obstacles to bring the sensors mainstream.

Friday, GreenCell released news about another breakthrough, this time with regards to the UltraTemp™ technology used in igniters. The UltraTemp™ igniters have been proven to outpace all current Silicon Carbide-based competitors and have shown an increase in material strength and durability while coming at a lower price point.

GreenCell disclosed that it has now developed an UltraTemp™-C based firing system for its line of igniters, sensors and fuel cells. The unique design provides for easy manufacture of sensors and igniters at temperatures beyond 1400C. The system provides for handling ease for all high temperature operations and is completely silica free.

Shares of GCLL have only been trading since July 2011 and have been holding a strong support at 60 cents. Friday’s news gave the shares a jolt upward on one of the best volume days in the company’s history. Shares surged upward to $0.76, representing a 26.67% increase over the prior day’s closing price. With its technology in the present tense, not years away from development, investors may be catching on to what this low-float company has to offer and taking the opportunity to snatch shares down near support. Proper due diligence is always encouraged.
