Alkaline Water Sprints on Entrée to New Stores

Water is king, and one of the prime brands of bottled water is spreading the word out to places far and near in America.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based Alkaline Water Company Inc. (NASDAQ:WTER) made waves Tuesday with the announcement that it had forged agreements to sell its product in more than 1,100 convenience stores in Texas and California.

The company dubbing itself the "leading producer of premium bottled alkaline drinking water sold under the brand name Alkaline88," joined up last winter with E.A. Berg to assist with expanding the retail presence of its flagship within the convenience store channel across those two massive states.

To further assist the EA Berg convenience store initiative, the Company has seen good progress with other distributors like PITCO FOODS which is selling Alkaline88® to over 12,000 retail stores across Northern California and Reno, Nevada.

Said CEO Richard Wright, “We are thrilled about the traction that we are seeing in the convenience store channel. Since we started the van program, we have added more than 1,100 new stores that are currently stocking our core Alkaline88® products, including the one-gallon, three-liter, and one-liter sizes."

Shares in WTER hiked 10 cents, or 5.4%, to $1.96, within a half-hour of Tuesday’s closing bell, on volume of 170,000
