Theralase Technologies Inc. (TSX-Venture:TLT) scored big on midday Wednesday markets, on word one of its processes has been proven effective in treatment.
The Toronto-based Theralase, a clinical stage pharmaceutical company using light-activated Photo Dynamic Compounds (PDC) and their associated drug formulations to destroy various cancers reports that patient five, enrolled and treated in the Phase Ib Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer (“NMIBC”) clinical study, has demonstrated no tumour recurrence, progression or presence of NMIBC disease, in an 18-month clinical and cystoscopy assessment.
It marks a new achievement for the Company.
The study was aimed at evaluating TLD-1433, Theralase’s lead PDC, for the primary endpoint of safety and tolerability, secondary endpoint of pharmacokinetics (movement and exit of drug within tissue) and exploratory endpoint of efficacy, primarily at 90 days and secondarily at 180 days post-treatment.
The news sent shares into the stratosphere, four cents, or 12.5%, to 36 cents, on volume of 467,000 shares.
