Mikros Cops Order from U.S. Navy

A small-cap stock making big waves in Wednesday trading is Princeton, New Jersey-based Mikros Systems Corporation (OTC:MKRS), which came up with very favorable news.

Mikros, a technology company specializing in electronic systems for advanced maintenance in military, industrial and commercial applications, has been awarded a substantial follow-on Delivery Order under its ADEPT Distance Support Sensor Suite IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) contract with the U.S. Navy.

The order has a $15-million ceiling and covers the installation of condition-based maintenance systems for the Littoral Combat Ship.

Mikros CEO Tom Meaney added, "There are many other Navy systems and ships where Condition-Based Maintenance capabilities are planned. We are working diligently to develop new applications for the AN/SYM-3, which provides a cyber-secure environment for remote monitoring and data analytics to help keep the ship and its systems ready to fight."

Shares in MKRS gained two cents, or 11.2%, to 19.8 cents, on volume of 162,000 shares.
