If Not Now, When to Buy Disney Stock?

The stock price of amazing high-quality, blue-chip company Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) has traded significantly lower than it should have relative to some of its peers, even before this most recent stock market sell off related to the COVID-19 pandemic, in my view.

This pervasive market uncertainty has driven Disney's stock price to levels I think are ridiculously cheap, making this a company one to definitely put on one's watchlist right now.

Disney is one of those prime examples of great long-term buy and hold type opportunities to own at a great discounted price. The company has a world-class management team (which has been shaken up somewhat of late), but continues to be a leader in in content creation and vertical integration of the company's portfolio of extremely valuable brands.

There have been few companies out there that have been as adept as Disney in making large, multi-billion-dollar acquisitions work within a new corporate framework and generating real synergies with said acquisitions.

I think investors will start to really begin to look at the past look past the obvious short-term nature of theme park closures and the delay of various blockbuster movies toward a post-COVID world which will (hopefully) emerge this coming fall.

With the companies Disney+ streaming platform now almost one-third the size of Netflix’s subscriber base, I think even in the short term, when one considers the balance of headwinds versus tailwinds, one will see that things likely really aren't as bad for Disney shareholders as the company stock price would indicate.

Invest wisely, my friends.
