Nano One Surges on Battery Technology

On a day of doom and gloom on the markets, with virus contraction rates rising, at least one Canadian firm was intrepidly voicing new product developments.

Vancouver-based Nano One Materials Corp. (TSX-Venture:NNO) gave investors word of development of a coated, single crystal cathode material for lithium ion batteries that is providing up to four times improvement in longevity. Furthermore, this technology is applicable to all of Nano One's cathode materials but is especially relevant to lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC811). These latest innovations are patent pending.

Chief Technology Officer. Stephen Campbell, was quoted thus: "Nano One has developed a coated single nanocrystal cathode material, which provides protection against undesirable side reactions and the stresses of repeated charge and discharge cycling. We are focused on optimizing this for NMC811 and I am pleased to present recent results that show how protective coatings on a robust crystal structure can make cathode powders more durable and longer lasting.”

For sure, the spark was there on small-cap equity markets for the company, which grabbed seven cents, or 5.3%, to $1.40, on volume of 341,000 shares.
