Exciting Initial Results Make Miner Stock Pop

I’m sure you’ve been hearing plenty about gold miners as the precious metal is coming off its all-time highs this year. New discoveries along with better optimization of existing mines can potentially be huge revenue boosters for micro-cap gold miners, which is why I always like to keep my eye on any intraday press releases in the sector.

Today, the newsworthy miner was Labrador Gold Corp. (TSX-V:LAB) after it announced the initial results of the soil sampling survey at its 77km 2 Kingsway Project near Gander, Newfoundland. This Canadian-based mineral exploration company focuses on the acquisition and exploration of prospective gold projects in Eastern Canada.

Traders welcomed the news as shares are trading up to $0.45/share (+7.1%) as we headed into the close. This is a nice continuation of the uptrend this stock (as well as the majority of this industry) has been witnessing over the last year.
