Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ:COST) reported a 13.4% surge in comparable sales for November. Its net sales climbed 15.1% to $15.67 billion for the retail month of November.
The Washington State-based wholesale giant reported that, for the 12-week first quarter ended November 22, the Company reported net sales of $42.35 billion, an increase of 16.9 percent from $36.24 billion last year.
For the 13 weeks ended November 29, the Company reported net sales of $46.33 billion, an increase of 16% from $39.95 billion during the similar period last year.
Costco currently operates 803 warehouses, including 558 in the United States and Puerto Rico, and more than 100 in Canada. Costco also operates e-commerce sites in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Australia.
COST shares tumbled $6.32, or 1.7%, to $377.18.
