Twitter May Locate in Africa

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) Chief Executive Officer Jack Dorsey said on Wednesday that he is considering moving to Africa sometime next year.
Dorsey, who also heads the payments company Square was bidding goodbye to the continent after spending some time in Ethiopia meeting the country’s technology community.

“Sad to be leaving the continent, [...] for now,” Dorsey said in a tweet. “Not sure where yet, but I’ll be living here for 3 to 6 months mid 2020. Grateful I was able to experience a small part.”

The Twitter CEO’s visit coincided with that of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NASDAQ:BABA) founder Jack Ma.

Ma was visiting Ethiopia to sign an agreement to establish a new trade platform, Business Insider reported.

Dorsey added that Africa would define the future of technology, “especially the bitcoin one.”

Dorsey has betted big on Bitcoin. In October, he invested an undisclosed amount in a startup CoinList to build a cryptocurrency exchange desk. He has previously expressed a belief that Bitcoin could become the world’s sole cryptocurrency by 2028.

Thursday brought news of a lawsuit against Twitter, for violations of certain sections of the Securities Act. Investors as of last summer are being asked to step forward with their claims by the end of the year.

Twitter shares began Black Friday off 19 cents to $30.98
