Toronto Firm Works With Washington to Combat Misinformation on COVID-19

Ah, for the good old days, when investors didn’t have to discern terms such as "fake news" when politicians egos have been tweaked. With the spread of the coronavirus – and the even quicker spread of information and misinformation about it – at least one North American company is winning recognition for its efforts at nipping such information in the bud.

Toronto-based Datametrex AI Limited (TSX-Venture:DM) revealed Monday it is working with various agencies within the United States government on the mass amount of social media surrounding #coronavirus and #covid19. More detail will come out on the work once completed and approved for public dissemination.

Said CEO Marshall Gunter, "We are thrilled to be working with the US Government on this very important issue. We recently completed work for Democracy Labs on #disinformation in social media regarding #covid19 and #Coronavirus and secured a relationship with Carnegie Mellon University IDeaS. Both announcements assisted in getting Nexalogy in front of the Government Agencies for this current opportunity in the United States."

Shares in DM rocketed by Monday’s final hour of trade, gaining 66.7% to 2.5 cents, on volume topping 9.2 million shares.
