Why Sony Corp Could Be A Great Long-Term Buy

The key to most successful technology investments in recent decades can be linked to picking a serious secular trend one believes will completely reshape the way we live our lives, and then put your money to work and watch it grow. At least, this is my take. For Sony Corp. (NYSE:SNE), I think such a driver for this company could be its cameras business, which is undervalued right now.

Not many investors know precisely where the two or three cameras on the back of their brand-new smartphones come from. But as you may have guessed (since I’m writing about Sony), it is indeed Sony that has captured a significant piece of the market here. These cameras have become critical inputs for most phone makers, and I expect to see some marginal expansion in the future as companies like Sony leverage better technology as a selling point for new phone models (which can already do pretty much anything one can think of already).

Sony’s business model is one most may not typically associate with innovation, however the company has done a good job of continuing to improve and grow its product lines, making this one technology company I’d encourage investors to check out once the dust settles.

Invest wisely, my friends.
