Echo Star Corp. (NYSE:SATS)’s flagship Sling TV network, which claims to be the most flexible live streaming service, today revealed the first-ever roster of the Sling "Stream Team," a group of 10 college football players signed to one-day Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals for just $4.99, matching the price of Sling's new Day Pass subscription.
Last month, Sling TV launched its newest Sling Orange subscription offerings to redefine streaming: Day, Week and Weekend Passes last month. In this next chapter of the campaign, the provider is flipping the script on the traditional NIL narrative. Instead of million-dollar contracts and sneaker endorsements, Sling is celebrating players and fans alike with a never-before-seen one-day, $4.99 NIL deal and a very real reward: a free year of Sling TV.
"This program proves you don't need to spend big to show up big," said Seth Van Sickel, Sling TV Senior Vice President. "We built our new passes to give fans flexibility, and the Stream Team celebrates the same idea. You can still be part of the action without signing your life (or your wallet) away."
“The roster of college football athletes,” reads this morning’s news release, “includes breakout transfers, crowd-igniting players and standout walk-ons from powerhouse programs across the country. They were chosen not just for their skills on the field, but for their personalities, campus presence and their ability to represent the voice of real fans.”
SATS slid 70 cents, or 0.2%, to $76.34.
