Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) has been at the forefront of innovation. However, over the last few years, the company has been accused of being too heavily reliant on iPhone sales. On Monday though, the company showcased its progress in software and services, silencing its critics.
At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple showed the updates made to Siri. The company also showcased a rebooted Apple Music, iOs and a new Mac operating system. The event was kicked off with a presentation on Apple Watch. Kevin Lynch, VP of Technology at Apple, showed the improvements to the watch.
The new features added to the Apple watch include Scribble, which enables users to write notes right on the watch face. There is also a feature that allows users to easily change watch faces.
Apple also unveiled an overhauled Apple Music. It also showcased new features for Apple TV. The company’s Apple’s Pay, which was launched last year, can now be used with Mac. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, noted that the company’s App Store now has 2 million Apps and 130 billion downloads. The company has paid around $50 billion to developers, Cook added.
