Corning Inc. (NYSE: GLW) (Q1) EPS estimate of 30 cents, identical to the prior-year quarter. Earlier this month, Corning announced the availability of its USB 3.Optical Cables, capable of sending up to five gigabits per second of data at distances up to 30 metres.
Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) (Q1) EPS estimate of $1.29, compared to $1.27 in the prior-year quarter. The company has been the centre of controversy in recent months, with hedge fund manager Bill Ackman accusing the company of being a "pyramid scheme" that makes money by recruiting more salespeople instead of through selling products. Herbalife rejects the accusation.

Industrial Produce Price Index (March) This index rose 1.0% in February, mainly because of higher prices for energy and petroleum products.
Gross Domestic Product (Feb.) The agency said real GDP rose 0.5% in January, following a 0.5% decline in December and five consecutive monthly increases before that.
