Apple’s iPhone Sales In China Rise 23%

Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone sales in China surged 23% in the first nine weeks of this year, outperforming the broader smartphone market.

After years of stagnant sales, Apple is once again outperforming competitors in China with its latest iPhone 17 model.

Apple’s surging sales in the nation of 1.4 billion people come with overall smartphone sales in China declining 4% year-over-year in the first nine weeks of 2026, according to Counterpoint Research.

Unlike its rivals, Apple isn’t raising prices on its phones in the region. Counterpoint also said that Apple is absorbing part of its margin pressure and expanding its market share.

The newest iPhone model and cost controls appear to be resonating with Chinese consumers, which is good news for Apple. China is the company’s second biggest market after the U.S.

Apple’s revenue in China was $74.2 billion U.S. in 2022. By last year, it had declined to $64.4 billion U.S. due to a ban on iPhone use for government officials and increased competition.

But now, Apple’s sales within China are once again rising and the company is taking advantage of its newfound popularity in the Asian nation.

Apple recently launched the MacBook Neo laptop at a starting price of $599 U.S., making it one of the lowest priced computers in the Chinese market.

AAPL stock has gained 16% over the last 12 months to trade at $248.96 U.S. per share.
