Goldman Sachs Group (GS) gains with Q1 profit

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE: GS) shares rose 0.6% to $158.18. The bank said Thursday its first-quarter profit fell to $2.03 billion, or $4.02 a share, from $2.26 billion, or $4.29 a share, a year earlier. Total revenue fell 8% to $9.33 billion. Shares rose as Goldman’s results topped expectations of per-share earnings of $3.48 on revenue of $8.66 billion, as forecast by analysts polled by FactSet.
