VMware (NYSE: VMW) shares slipped 7.4% to $81.67, after gaining as much as 4% following the earnings release, on moderate volume. VMware reported adjusted third-quarter earnings of 87 cents a share on revenue of $1.51 billion. Analysts expected earnings of 83 cents a share on revenue of $1.5 billion.
