Expedia Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE) shares hiked 4.6% to $84.43. After Thursday’s closing bell, reported its third-quarter earnings rose to $257.1 million, or $1.94 a share, from $170.9 million, or $1.22 a share, a year earlier. On an adjusted basis, the travel website would have earned $1.93 a share, significantly better than the $1.75 a share forecast by analysts.
