House Prices Stateside Continue Rally

It cost more in November to buy a house south of the border.

Figures released Wednesday morning by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) showed that U.S. house prices rose in November, up 0.5% on a seasonally-adjusted basis from the previous month.

The previously-reported 0.4% increase in the House Price Index in October was revised downward to a 0.3% increase. The FHFA monthly HPI is calculated using home sales price information from mortgages sold to, or guaranteed by, the mortgage agencies known colloquially as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

From November 2015 to November 2016, house prices were up 6.1%.
