Stocks Little Changed to Start Week



Stock futures were relatively unchanged on Monday as Wall Street awaits a number of key releases, including Nvidia earnings and the September jobs report.

Futures for the 30-stock index fell 47 points, or 0.1%, to 47,182.

Futures for the S&P 500 index retreated 6.75 points, or 0.1%, to 6,748.50.

Futures for the NASDAQ sank 14 points, or 0.1%, to 25,080

In the premarket, Alphabet rose 3% after Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway revealed it had taken a stake in the Google and YouTube parent.

Investors will get more clues on the state of the AI trade this week, when Nvidia reports earnings on Wednesday. Wall Street will also get a look at the health of the consumer, with retail giants Walmart and Home Depot set to post their quarterly results.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 dipped 0.1% Monday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng lost 0.7%

Oil prices gained 22 cents to $60.31 U.S. a barrel.

Gold prices erased $9.70 to $4,084.50 U.S. per ounce.
