Normalized funds from operations were $169 million ($0.96 per share) for the first quarter of 2018, compared to $170 million ($1.01 per share) in the same period of 2017. On a U.S. GAAP basis, net income applicable to common shares for the first quarter of 2018 was $49 million ($0.28 per share) compared to $32 million ($0.19 per share) in the first quarter of 2017.
