The employment picture in this country dwindled last month, according to figures released Thursday by ADP Canada.
The organization's National Employment Report put the figure at 5,700 jobs lost from September to October. About 1,500 of those jobs were in manufacturing, while the construction sector shrank by 7,200. Natural resources and mining let go of 8,200.
Health-care jobs surged 6,800, while finance and real-estate grew by 11,400. Transportation and utilities surrendered 9,800 jobs.
Still, says ADP "The Canadian economy has added more than 250,000 jobs so far this year, which is 25% more than the total number of jobs created in all of 2016. As unemployment sinks lower, available workers will continue to grow scarce."
