Shares were higher in Asia on Monday, but most markets were closed for the Lunar New Year holiday, with markets in Shanghai shut for the whole week.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 gained 352.51 points, or 0.6%, to 26,906.04.
The gains followed a rally Friday for tech stocks that countered worries about the weakening U.S. economy.
Markets in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, and mainland China were closed for Chinese New Year.

In New Zealand, the NZX 50 dipped 28.76 points, or 0.2%, to 11,948.72
In Australia, the ASX 200 nicked up 5.11 points, or 0.1%, to 7,457.27.
