Equities in the Asia-Pacific region were decidedly mixed Monday, burdened heavily by losses in Japan.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 slid 518.35 points, or 0.8%, to 63,492.99.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng regained 111.97 points, or 0.5%, to 24,917.60.
In other markets;
In Shanghai, the CSI index fell 30.07 points, or 0.7%, to 4,480.08.
In Korea, the Kospi Index retreated 225.54 points, or 3.3%, to 6,684.37
In Singapore, the Straits Times index added 22.09 points, or 0.4%, to 5,718.02.
In Taiwan, the Taiex index dumped 322.33 points, or 0.7%, to 45,862.52
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 lost 19.64 points, or 0.1%, to 13,560.69
In Australia, the ASX 200 eased 8.66 points, or 0.1%. to 8,749.87.
