Edgewater Wireless to Partner with Evolve Services for European Expansion

According to a report published by Bloomberg Intelligence earlier this year, the level of competition among North American wireless carriers is expected to remain fierce in 2016. The stiff competition will come amid a price war in the U.S. and a weakening economy in Canada.

The report further notes revenue growth for Europe’s telecom industry this year will depend primarily on whether the demand for data can be monetized amid a tepid economic recovery.

Further the report adds that 4G population coverage will reach an average 75% in Western Europe by the third quarter of this year. This will boost revenue and drive industry expansion.

The robust outlook for the wireless communications industry in Europe augurs well for Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (TSX-Venture:YFI), which is partnering with Evolve Services in The Netherlands to expand growth of WiFi3 in Europe.

Based in Canada, Edgewater Wireless Systems is engaged in the development and commercialization of leading-edge technologies and intellectual property for the wireless communications market. The company’s product line targets high density WiFi applications in the growing Carrier WiFi and enterprise markets.

Edgewater Wireless today announced that its wireless products and solutions in Europe will be represented by Evolve Services. The company noted that Evolve will be driving sales of its innovative WiFi products and solutions in the European market. YFI further noted that many major urban centers in Europe are seeing extreme challenges in high density WiFi connectivity.

The company believes that these issues can be solved with its WiFi3(TM) technology. The company added that Evolve will be a primary agency for it in the European wireless market.

Andrew Skafel, President & CEO at Edgewater Wireless Systems, said that Evolve is a good partner to grow the company’s already-in- demand, high density wireless solutions in the European market.

Skafel further said that the Evolve team has a strong track record of success, working with companies like Xirrus – building opportunity and selling innovative WiFi technology throughout Europe. He added that YFI believes Evolve is the right partner for the company in a market already challenged to address the issues of interference and capacity in WiFi.

The news of the partnership also boosted shares of Edgewater Wireless Systems in trading today. At last check, YFI shares were trading 2.44% higher at $0.210 on volume of 344,700, which is above the daily average volume of 309,473.
