Shares of Nova LifeStyle, Inc. (NASDAQ:NVFY) are ripping ahead in Thursday trading on news that the company is bringing in record-setting number of paying members and attendees for its Nova-Mart online and classroom programs on Blockchain. Blockchain is a distributed database most widely known for its uses in powering and securing cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, although it has countless other uses for record management, transactions and management applications.
Nova’s Future Tech Business School offers Blockchain technology network training. In these efforts, Nova owns www.nova-mart.com, an online transaction platform for global customers and merchants to offer products and business services based on Blockchain technology.
Enrollment, according to the company, has gone splendid so far in 2017, with numbers stepping up each month. In March, the number of sign-ups exceeded 2,000, more than doubling the 1,000 students that was a record number in February.
The surge in interest inspired Nova to expand further with launching a new Digital Assets Cultural Hall in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong. The newest addition joins another training center located in Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong.
Interestingly, Nova LifeStyle may be having great success with its Blockchain centers, but its other line of business is not tech or education related. The company also makes and distributes modern furniture.
Investors are responding very favorably to the Blockchain news, buying shares up from yesterday’s close at $1.55. At the time of this writing, shares are printing $2.19 for a 41.3% gain on the day and have even gone as high as $2.63 during the session.
