Postmedia Cancels Monday Print Editions Of Nine Newspapers

Publisher Postmedia Network (PNC.A) is ending the Monday print editions of nine major daily
newspapers across Canada effective October 17.

Impacted newspapers include the Vancouver Sun, The Province, Calgary Herald, Calgary Sun,
Edmonton Journal, Edmonton Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Sun and Montreal Gazette.

Postmedia said the respective websites of each newspaper will continue to be updated with
news content on Mondays.

The Toronto-based newspaper publisher said it is ending the Monday print editions to reflect
that Canadians continue to seek more information online.

Postmedia added that there are no jobs cuts associated with the end of the Monday print
editions of its metropolitan newspapers.

In its most recent quarter, Postmedia recorded a net loss of $16.77 million, or $0.17 per share.

The company’s stock has declined 11% over the last 12-months and currently trades at $1.69 a
share.
