Nutanix Down on Hewlett Packard Rumblings

Nutanix (NASDAQ:NTNX) tumbled Friday following a report that Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) has ended talks to acquire the cloud computing company.

HPE is no longer in talks with Nutanix, according to a Dealreporter item, which cited sources. An HPE spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Dealreporter that there are no discussions with Nutanix.

The update comes after Bloomberg reported late last month that HPE expressed takeover interest in Nutanix and held talks with the cloud computing provider in recent months.

The company was expected to see interest from private equity firms and strategic buyers.

Nutanix is a global leader in cloud software and a pioneer in hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, making clouds invisible, freeing customers to focus on their business outcomes. Organizations around the world use
Nutanix software to leverage a single platform to manage any app at any location for their hybrid multi-cloud environments.

NTNX shares fell $2.97, or 10.6%, to $24.95, while HPE shares lost seven cents to $15.64.
