Ford Raises Price Of Electric F-150 Lightning Pick-Up Truck

The Ford Motor Company (F) has raised the price of its electric F-150 Lightning pick-up truck.

The Detroit automaker said the standard Lightning Pro edition of the F-150 will now start at just under $60,000 U.S., not including shipping. That’s about 50% higher than the Lightning Pro’s original starting price when it launched a year ago.

Ford also raised the price of the mid-level Lariat edition of the pick-up truck to just under $76,000 U.S. from $74,500 U.S. previously.

The starting price for the top-line Platinum edition has been lifted to $98,000 U.S. from $96,900 U.S., said the company.

The price hikes come as Ford resumes production of the F-150 Lightning following a February battery fire. Shipments of the Lightning were set to resume this week, said Ford in a statement.

Ford has now raised its prices on the F-150 Lightning truck several times since it first announced the truck’s pricing tiers back in 2021.

Ford’s stock has declined 27% in the last 12 months to trade at $12.29 U.S. per share.
