Trading platform Robinhood Markets says it is testing a new cryptocurrency wallet and cryptocurrency transfer features for its app that will allow customers to send and receive digital currencies such as Bitcoin.
Robinhood’s retail shareholders have long wanted a cryptocurrency wallet in which to store their digital coins and tokens.
A day before the brokerage announced its quarterly results last month, the top question on various crowdsource platforms was whether the brokerage was launching a crypto wallet.
The trading platform operator has bet big on the retail investor’s interest in the cryptocurrency space. Earlier this month, the company said it would roll out cryptocurrency recurring investments, allowing users to buy digital coins commission free and with as little as $1 on a schedule of their choice.
