As the market for medical marijuana keeps growing, this market leader is expanding its footprint in Latin America.
Khiron Life Sciences Corp. (TSX-Venture:KHRN) (OTCPK:KHRNF) has finalized agreements to manufacture and distribute medical cannabis products in Mexico. Khiron is a vertically integrated leader in the medical cannabis field, with core operations in Latin America and Europe. The company is one of the leading medical cannabis companies in Latin America.
Khiron has designation in Colombia as a National Strategic Project, and has received authorization to include Mexico as a destination country within its international export quota, with over 700 kg of high-THC extract now available for export to Mexico. Khiron has also finalized agreements for the manufacture of finished medical cannabis products in Mexico .
Mexico is the second-largest economy in Latin America, with over 11 million people with conditions treatable with medical cannabis, and plans to launch clinics across major cities in Mexico in 2021, building on the success of its vertically integrated model in Colombia and Peru and leveraging its education partnership with Tecnologico de Monterrey
Shares, which had dropped earlier this month, were up over 5% in mid-morning trade.
