Relevium Partners with Curaloe on New Aloe Vera Skin Care Products

E-commerce focused health and wellness company Relevium Technologies (TSX-V: RLV)(OTCQB: RLLVF) has teamed up with Curaçao Ecocity Projects N.V. for an exclusive soft launch of a new line of aloe vera-based supplements and skin care products under Relevium’s Bioganix brand.

Ecocity, located in Curaçao off the northern tip of South America to the southwest of Aruba, is the owner of the Curaloe brand, self-described as "Maybe the most pure Aloe Vera products in the world." The Curaloe website has an array of Aloe Vera products, including facial moisturizing, cleansing, full body care and more. While no details on the soft launch were provided, presumably Curaloe.com will be the sales channel used given a hyperlink was provided.

Along with its sister company in South Africa, privately-owned Curaloe operates a plantation, and aloe vera extraction factory in addition to cosmetic and supplement manufacturing and bottling facilities.

Aloe Vera has been used for decades in consumer products, ranging from skin lotions to burn ointments to beverages. Like so many plants, there is scientific debate over the medicinal benefit with positive studies rebutted by some other studies.

Regardless, the public seems to stand behind it, with market researchers at IMARC Group estimating that the global aloe vera gel market alone was worth $465 Million U.S. in 2016, holding steady growth around 11% annually in the seven years through 2016.

Relevium is looking to diversify its Bioganix product line and the aloe vera test run is the first part of that initiative into sustainable plant-derived compounds. CEO Aurelio Useche says that aloe vera is just one of many similar products they intend to integrate into the Bioganix portfolio.

A successful launch with Curaloe is expected to lead to developing a full line of aloe-based supplements and skin care products that will have other plant derivatives, such as the cannabis variety called hemp and the herb ashwagandha, amongst its ingredients.

Shares of RLV are trading modestly ahead on the news, gaining half a penny, or 3.03%, to $0.17 with about an hour left in the trading session.
