Kootenay Sings on Results from Mexican Mine

More good things are coming out of the mining sector this Wednesday, with Vancouver-based Kootenay Silver Inc. (TSX-Venture: KTN) is trumpeting assay results from three new drill holes at the Copalito silver-gold project in Sinaloa State, Mexico.

This morning’s news release pointed up that these are the second, third and fourth core holes to be announced since the restart of the 3,000-metre, 2020 drill campaign designed to target high-grade silver and gold showings of the six principal veins exposed at surface on the Property.

Said CEO James McDonald: "Encountering high silver grades so early in the inaugural drill program at Copalito is very exciting. We are optimistic about the potential of both Copalito and Columba hosting high-grade silver resources to add to our existing silver equivalent resource base of 144 million ounces in the measured and indicated category plus 35.7 million ounces in the inferred category at our La Cigarra and Promontorio properties. "

KTN shares hiked 5.5 cents, or 13.9%, to 45 cents by lunch hour, on 2.7 million shares.
