Google To Focus On Artificial Intelligence, Unveil New Phone At Developer Conference

Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) plans to focus on artificial intelligence and a new mid-range Pixel cell phone at its annual I/O conference for software developers that is being held in Mountain View, California on Tuesday.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai is expected to showcase much-anticipated updates to the company's hardware lines and artificial intelligence during his conference keynote address. Google will also provide updates to its security and privacy measures to address ongoing concerns about data sharing.

And, several media outlets are reporting that Google will drop a brand-new mid-range Pixel phone at the I/O conference. The new Pixel would be a cheaper option to the flagship model (Pixel 3) that currently sells for $800 U.S.

Google said in a news release that more than 7,000 developers have registered to attend its annual conference on Tuesday, which is focused on updates for the computer engineers that build apps and services on top of Google technology. The I/O conference has also become a stage to announce new consumer products and innovations that are of interest to the public.
